Emo Culture

  Today all of us humans, understand emo culture in different ways. Not that they are wrong but they aren't completely right either. To know exactly what the emo culture means, it is very important that we know the history of emo culture. It started as a style of music, but changed its course into a way of living, where there is complete freedom to be as expressive as one can be, because that's what emo is. To define what is emo, today it is known to be an array of rock music which has very confessional lyrics and loud yet melodious music. Emo is the shorter version of "emotional music", which is usually hardcore punk, grunge and metal. It is also called the "emotional hardcore" or "emocore", that originated somewhere in the middle of 1980 in Washington DC.

There were bands like Embrace and Rites of Spring who started this revolutionary music and today it is more of a religion than just a practice. Other than the fields of music, the emo culture has built a particular stereotype for itself, where those who practice emo dress up in a specific manner, have specific hairstyles and have a certain patterns of living.
